Betsy Demaray has been a member of the Sault Ste. Marie, MI Rotary Club since 1988, serving as its president twice. She served as 6290 District Governor in 2000-01 and went on to be a training leader at the International Assembly for two years. She was the RRIMC for Zone 28 and served as Zone training leader for a number of years. Betsy was general chair for Great Lakes Rotary PETS for two years, chair of the Northland Breakfast in Chicago and sat on RI’s World Affairs Committee, Leadership Development Committee, and TRF Paperwork Review Committee.
She and Ken have represented the RI President at numerous District Conferences and served as volunteers at Rotary projects in Jamaica and Nicaragua twice. They are members of the Bequest Society, benefactors, and multiple PHFs. In 2008-09 she was recognized with the Service Above Self Award.
Betsy is a Real Estate Broker, and formerly a bank Vice President. She has owned several businesses including an appraisal firm, an accounting firm, a sporting goods store, a women’s exercise club and two motels. Her educational background includes a B.S. degree in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration. She and Ken have been married 40 years, have two grown children and four grandchildren.
