Joseph White

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Mining Engineering in 1971. 1 married Peggy a week after graduation, and after a short but oh so sweet honeymoon, I promptly uprooted my new bride and moved to the barren wilds of Price, Utah where I worked as a mining engineer for US Steel in underground coal until Uncle Sam and the US Army Corps of Engineers respectfully requested my services. I served as a 2nd and 1st Lieutenant with the 51st Engineers Battalion after which I returned to Denver and joined my Father and Brother in the family business. In 1987 we moved from Denver to Roanoke, Virginia to open a regional office for Tamrock, Inc. a Finnish manufacture of hydraulic drilling equipment for the Mining Industry, and in 1991 we moved to Clearfield, Pennsylvania to sell Caterpillar heavy equipment to the Construction and Mining Industries for Cleveland Brothers Equipment Company. We have been blessed with 3 children and 6 grandchildren (so far).
The Rotary roots run deep in my family, with my Father maintaining perfect attendance in the Rotary Club of Denver and later in the Rotary Club of Lake Havasu for over 50 years. I can remember stopping or going out of our way to make up a Rotary meeting on many a cross-country road trip. For as long as I can remember, Rotary was a priority in my Father's life, and he lived his life by "The Four Way Test" with most of his closest friends being Rotarians.
I joined the Rotary Club of Clearfield in 1994, became a PaulHarris Fellow and served as President in 2001-2002, Assistant Governor in 2002-2003, 2003-2004, and 2004- 2005, District Trainer 2005-2006, Chairman of the District Grants Committee 2005-2006, and 2006-2007, World Community Service Chair in 2006-2007.
